ANIMAL JACK: An adaptation in development with TF1
TFOU, the TF1 group’s children’s slot, and Ellipse Animation announce the development of a new animated series, ‘Animal Jack’. This series is adapted from
the popular comic book by Belgian writer Kid Toussaint and illustrator Miss Prickly,
published by Dupuis and with over 1 million copies sold. Animal Jack is poised to
capture the hearts of children aged 5 to 8 through a collection of 52 engaging 11
minute episodes.
Imagine leaping like a panther, soaring like a buzzard, being as strong as a bear,
slipping effortlessly into a rabbit hole, and galloping through the forest—all in a day’s
work! For Jack, this is just routine.
At 10 years old, Jack is as spirited as a Jack Russell Terrier and possesses an
extraordinary ability. He can transform into any animal he wishes. But Jack is also
mute. Although he cannot speak, he communicates in other ways, through his
gestures, his looks and above all thanks to his friends who know him inside out. Far
from being an obstacle, his difference becomes a strength that enriches the daily life
of the whole town and allows him to create unique bonds with those around him.
Yann Labasque, Director of Children’s Programming at TF1 Group: ” We are
delighted to soon be sharing Jack’s extraordinary adventures with TFOU viewers.
With his unique character as a mute and magically gifted boy, Jack promises to
become an endearing hero who teaches us about diversity, disability, and bravery.
This new series opens the door to incredible stories of action and adventure, where
imagination and emotion come together. “
Lila Hannou, Director of Development and Strategy, Ellipse Animation:
“Adapting Animal Jack is a wonderful creative adventure. Following in the footsteps of
the comic book, this adventure comedy celebrates friendship, solidarity and
acceptance of difference through the adventures of a child who can transform himself
into an animal. Led by an endearing trio, the series promotes mutual aid, imagination
and learning through experience, while encouraging every child to express their
uniqueness. We are delighted to be working with the teams at TF1 to bring this
universe to life.”
